Lisa Miñán Fitzgerald, M.A.
Hi! My name is Lisa Miñán Fitzgerald and I LOVE teaching high school students about the world. During our 9th grade year together, we gain lasting knowledge about every country in the world – and also study the states of America, states of Mexico, states of India, and provinces of China. Using class camaraderie in a caring community – I strive to bring every single student to a place of success where he or she is able to understand the countries, geography and government structures around the world. Our goal is to grow into adults who can speak insightfully into the world today, utilizing the problem-solving skills that God gave each of us.
In 10th grade, we imagine and experience the history of the world from the first humans and their accomplishments and challenges all the way forward to the Cold War and beyond with globalism and recent world events. We look at the growth of cities from before Christ through the AD and ponder unsolved mysteries and unsung heroes along with all the big events you’d expect.
I love teaching juniors through dual credit Communication and/or a survey of American History – depending on their interests. Students can earn 6 hours of highly-transferable college credit in my familiar cozy classroom if they choose ACC Communication (fall) and Speech (spring).
