Dixie Ross, B.S.
Dixie Ross came to Austin in 1981 to attend the University of Texas and stuck around after earning degrees in English and Secondary Education. She has taught all levels of mathematics in three different public high schools for over 40 years. She began training other teachers through workshops and summer institutes 30 years ago and continues to do so today.
She is a National Board Certified Teacher, serves as an Early Table Leader for the AP Calculus Exam, and was honored as the Presidential Awardee for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2011.
She currently teaching AP Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus to Concordia Cardinals. She has two adult sons who are the light of her life. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, Jazzercise, reading, theater, and movies. Her goal is to have all students appreciate the beauty and utility of mathematics and to develop the skills and habits of mind that will allow them to accomplish their educational and career goals.
